Easy CGI has been in the business since 1994. That’s a fairly long business history, which means this company has been in the industry during the starting days of web hosting and all things online. The rates of Easy CGI is rather average; they do not offer the cheapest rates, but they do not offer the most expensive rates either. Their most basic plan is the Advanced X plan, available at 7.96 dollars a month, with 350 GB disk space at 3,500 GB bandwidth with a guaranteed 99.9 percent uptime (but do not be fooled; this is an industry standard). The following plans (the Advanced X2 and the Advanced X4) are obviously more expensive (at 15.96 dollars and 21.56 dollars per month) and offer more bandwidth and disk space (3500 GB and 500 GB for the X2, 7,500 GB and 750 GB for the X4). These are commendable numbers, to be sure, but not the best in terms of capacity with their price. Still, this makes Easy CGI a conservative host.
In terms of features and add-ons, Easy CGI can be rather competitive. This perhaps can make up for their not so affordable rates, although the usability and usefulness of these features will depend on the needs of the customer. For instance, EasyCGI offers free 50 dollars credit for Google Adwords and 25 dollars credit for Yahoo! Search Marketing. These are commendable add-ons, but these are not essentials.
What makes Easy CGI different in terms of features is that you can remove certain features and functions from your package to make maintaining your website very convenient and easy. More than removing, you can easily add such features as well. Their more than able customer service representatives will be very helpful with this regard.
In any case, Easy CGI’s control panel proves that web hosting service is very conservative. Their control panel is generic (specifically, it has no name) with generic features. Although it can help you get the job done, this control panel is not the easiest to handle. There is a learning curve to overcome here, especially if you are more adept and used to other control panels. A plus, however, is that they support several databases.
Easy CGI is mixture of conservative features and competitive add-ons and bonuses. If you are going to hardcore web hosting, this may not be the best service for you. Other web hosting companies offer more for less, actually. However, everyone else will be satisfied with Easy CGI. Easy CGI is a commendable web hosting service provider.
