Free Web Hosting Sucks
Free hosting is the most basic webhosting that you can get and there are hundreds of free hosting sites that are available on the internet. Free hosting sites are usually financed by adverts on websites that are signed up.
Free web hosting services are ridiculously limited. If you get a free hosting account you will have ads on the top and the bottom of your website and depending on what your website is all about, it may not suit at all but for individuals starting out on the internet it may be the best choice if you dont have a good deal of traffic or just a small site.
The type of domain that you will get when you go with a free web web hosting site is a subdomain with the name that you choose (yoursite.crapfreewebhost.com) or a name in a directory (crapfreewebhost.com/yoursite). For example, if the name of your free host is freesiteagogo.com,
Then your domain would be yourbusiness.freesiteagogo.com.
As stated earlier, if you are a novice, this is the type of service that you would likely want to obtain but there are some shortcomings to free hosting if you are looking for more options on the account.
First, many free web hosting accounts do not support database management or what you would call in simplistic terms, putting data structures on the free host side of their server. Databases are normally used for online data retrieval procedures. Many of these free web hosting sites do not support a common package called mySQL which allows you to program queries into your web sites.
They also dont support multiple email account. Most free web web hosting services only give you one e-mail account and its normally a web based net one. The free host does not include modules for Flash, PHP and DHMTL.
In summary, free web hosting is for newbies who want a easy hosting solution without anything too complicated.
