Mihalism Open Source Search Engine
Ever wanted your own search engine that you could customize and add it to your site? And i’m not talking about Blogbar, lol. Well there’s a group of skillful coders who released a very very excellent search engine code that is based on a simple GET-based protocol. This protocol uses Mihalism’s new service which displays search results in XML. They’ve made it open source and it’s free to download from their site. I actually uploaded it to one of my sites and have been playing around with it. The results i get from searching are pretty damn good. The best thing about it is you can customize how search results are displayed to the end user and of course the fact that it’s open source is also a nice touch.
The coders at Mihalism.com are a very talented group of guys, this search engine isn’t the only code they’ve produced. They’ve also developed a multi forum host for IPB and an image hosting script too. Check them out, they are always working on something new.
